Let the Adventure Begin on the Big Pigeon River
Explore the most action-packed five miles of whitewater rafting in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. This section of river is a great intermediate trip with class III and IV rapids*. The river's scenery is just as dramatic as its rapids. On this section of river, you will raft past the Smoky Mountain National Park, Cherokee National Forest, Martha Sundquist State Forest and under the Appalachian Trail.
No experience is necessary. You will be accompanied by world-class certified guides. We are the oldest and most experienced outfitter on the river. We'll supply you with the best equipment and instruction. The Pigeon River is only a 35 minute scenic drive from our Gatlinburg office. The trip usually takes 1 1/2 hours. Children must be 8 years old OR 70 lbs.
*In the Eastern US, rapids are rated on a scale of Class I through VI, with I being the easiest and VI the most difficult.

Take a Scenic Float Trip down the
Lower Pigeon

Bordering the Cherokee National Forest, this six and a half mile stretch of the Pigeon River includes Class I and II rapids with one Class III at the end. During hot summer days many groups will find themselves swimming and playing in the water. The trip is ideal for those who didn't quite meet the age requirements for the Upper Section.
Children must be at least 3 years old. This is also a great option for parents or grandparents who want a more relaxing tour of this section of river.
Groups or families have the flexibility to raft at the same time but at different levels of adventure.
